Magento installieren oder... was lange währt wird ewig gut!

Um mich mal auf dem laufenden zu halten, was aktuelle Open Source Projekte angeht, habe ich mir vorgenommen, Magento auf meinem Testspace zu installieren.

Die Installations-GUI überzeugt bereits, sicherlich wären einige Erweiterungen sinnvoll, beispielsweise der Vorschlag von Währungen zum gewählten Land, ebenso wie die Zeitzone.
Ich gehe davon aus, dass diese in mindestens 90% der Installationen in Verbindung stehen.

Nungut, alle Daten eingetragen, neue MySql-Datenbank angelegt und ab dafür!

Nichts da!

Der erste Fehler während der Installation.
Nett dargestellt, aber trotzdem ärgerlich. "Ich will doch nur installieren".

Das erste Problem war, dass wie bei vielen Hostern der INDEX-Befehl nicht für default-Datenbankbenutzer erlaubt ist.

Hoster angeschrieben (Managed Server) und die Berechtigung anpassen lassen.

Weiter gehts!
Läuft... nicht!

Der nächste Fehler, dieses mal etwas hartnäckiger:
"General error: 1005 Can't create table General error: 1005 Can't create table"

Leider bin ich mir nicht sicher, worin das Problem genau bestand.
Es scheint aber so zu sein, dass irgendwelche Tabellen nicht als Kollation auf UTF-8 gesetzt bzw. nicht "INNODB" verwenden.

Nungut... das auch erledigt.

Nun hatte ich das Problem, dass mir gemeldet wurde, eine Tabelle die erstellt werden sollte, existiere bereits.
"Table ... already exists" ...
Stimmt!
Tabelle also gelöscht, erneut ausgeführt... identischer Fehler...!

Höö?!?

Nungut, hier war der Trick einfach den Code aus der SQL-Datei, die Magento ausführt, manuell zu starten. Den Code dann natürlich aus der Update-Datei entfernen und darauf achten, dass auch kein Schnippsel vergessen wird.

Endlich konnte ich die Benutzerdaten eingeben und war zufrieden.

Vielleicht hat jemand von euch ähnliche Fehler und kann mit meinen Hinweisen etwas anfangen.

Ich spiele nun etwas mit Magento.
